Every time we hear about photo prints , automatically coming in our mind sizes like 10x15cm to 20x30cm. This is logical because we grown up seeing and using these size of photos. The last years technology changed and now we have the choice of every size of photo we can imagine. Photography in now days is a good tool of decoration. You could make a whole wall print size 3×3 meters with material like wallpaper photo with our personal moments or people we love. Instead of a neutral landscape photo we could use our favorite photo or our family portrait. You could just ask a professional photographer about what he suggest for decorating, also about the fabric and the and the durability. A perfect suggestion usually is the print on canvas. Πραγματικά βαριέμαι όταν κάτι βλέπω να γίνεται συνέχεια. Φυσικά όλοι έχουμε τις κακές μας συνήθειες αλλά καλό είναι να μην εκφραζόμαστε μέσα από αυτές. Εδώ και αρκετό καιρό γνωρίζω ανθρώπους μανιακούς με το instagram και προσπαθώ να κατανοήσω το λόγο της επιτυχίας αυτής της εφαρμογής. Το προηγούμενο Σαββατοκύριακο που ήμουν στον Πόρο άφησα την επαγγελματική μου κάμερα στο ξενοδοχείο και έτσι αναγκάστηκα να χρησιμοποιήσω το κινητό μου και συγκεκριμένα επέλεξα την εφαρμογή αυτή. Αφού έβγαλα 5-6 εικόνες συνειδητοποίησα πως η μια ήταν ωραιότερη από την άλλη. Πώς είναι δυνατόν να μην υπάρχει καμία δυσκολία στο αποτέλεσμα? Έτσι προσπάθησα να τραβήξω μια Κακή φωτογραφία!
Έχετε προσπαθήσει ποτέ να βγάλετε μια κακή φωτογραφία με το instagram? Η αλήθεια είναι ότι είναι λίγο δύσκολο! Πως είναι δυνατόν να συμβαίνει αυτό!
Το μυαλό μας έχει κάποιες σταθερές. Συνήθως τα παλιά και vintage αντικείμενα έχουν μεγαλύτερη αξία λόγο της ηλικίας αλλά και του ότι είναι χειροποίητα. Όταν βλέπεις μια παλιά φωτογραφία δεν σε ενδιαφέρει η ποιότητα γιατί έχει παραπάνω αξία από μόνη της αντί της σύγχρονης.
Όταν το εφέ αυτό της παλιάς φωτογραφίας γίνεται αντιληπτό το μυαλό μας αυτομάτως αναβαθμίζει την εικόνα δίνοντάς της παραπάνω αξία. Είναι κάτι σαν τρικ, μια ψευδαίσθηση αξίας αυτού που .βλέπουμε. Το καλό με το instagram είναι η ευχαρίστηση και η χαρά που δίνει αυτή η εφαρμογή σε αυτόν που το χρησιμοποιεί. Μπορεί να παράγει σε δευτερόλεπτα κάτι που μοιάζει να είναι «αξίας». Τελικά όλο αυτό ίσως να γίνεται κίνημα. Οι χρήστες το λατρεύουν!
Οι παλιές φωτογραφίες που έχουν δημιουργηθεί από παλιές κάμερες έχουν πολύ παραπάνω αξία λόγο της δυσκολίας, των γνώσεων και του χρόνου που απαιτείται για να παραχθούν. Αυτή η παραπάνω αξία χάνεται με την εφεύρεση και τη χρήση του instagram ενώ τα αποτελέσματα είναι σχεδόν τα ίδια. Ποιος ξέρει, ίσως μετά από 50 χρόνια οι νέοι κάθε παλιά φωτογραφία που βλέπουν να την αποκαλούν instagram.
The Truth about Instagram Photos
I really don’t like thinks that I see or doing very often. Yes, everyone has bad habits but Its better not to express through them. For days now I meet people who is maniac with instagram and I am wondering why. Last weekend I was at Poros Island, I left my professional camera at the Hotel so tried to capture some nice photos with this application. I made about 5 or 6. Every photo I tried to make I liked it more…There wasn’t any difficulty! So I tried to capture a bad instagram photo!
Have you ever tried to capture a bad photo using instagram? The truth is that is very very difficult. Why?
Our mind is used in some basics. Old and vintage things are more valuated cause of their age and also there are handmade. When you see an old photograph, you don’t care about the quality because it is an old photo, so it is more valuable that a present one.
When the effect of a vintage photo appears, our mind upgrades the value of what we see. Its like a trick, like an illusion of value! The good thing with instagram is the happiness that this application could give to all who using it. They could produce in seconds something looking high value. All this daily instagram use is like a movement. People like it, love it.
Vintage photos captured with old film cameras are high value cause of the difficulty, the knowledge and the time need you need to produce them. This value moving away with instagram but the results ar e the same. Who knows, after 50 years when young people see vintage photos just call them instagram photos.
How can you Distinguish Good Wedding Photography?
A couple about to be married asked me recently how one can distinguish truly good photography, so I decided to set out some criteria and my thoughts on how a couple can tell what good wedding photography is.
More and more professional photographers tout the quality and unique style of their work. Is that a good thing? It depends. If you went to buy a car, would a salesman ever tell you it’s not worth it and send you elsewhere? Of course not! For the same reason, any photographer is going to promote his work any way he can. The difference is that a car has certain quantitative, qualitative and financially measureable characteristics that can be compared, while photography is largely an intellectual product without a tangible measure of comparison, except through prints and digital albums. Most couples make the mistake of comparing photographer prices on the basis of prints and free gifts offered in the package. But what about the artistic and intellectual side of the product? What about the dream of those unique, spontaneous photos we wanted to keep from that special day?
What most couples realise right after their wedding is that they don’t remember anything about their wedding day! They expect their photos to keep those moments alive and show them highlights that they themselves may not even recall. The conclusion is that the photographer should inspire confidence that he can cover the event just as you would like to remember it.
A second important criterion in selecting a photographer is his personal perspective. Beyond just making a record, a good photographer can go a step further and highlight a powerful snapshot or detail that you might not have thought important or even noticed. That snapshot gives a more authentic look at the event and is directly related to the photographer’s perspective and the way he works. The angles he shoots from and the lenses he selects are an example of that.
A good indication of the above is to ask the prospective professional photographer to make a complete wedding presentation – from start to finish. That will give you an overall picture of the way he works and the result you can expect. I’m sure that after two or three presentations, the couple will be in a better position to judge and make a confident decision. If you are still not sure, you can always seek advice from a friend who is more familiar with photography in general.

Όταν τόπος σου
καθημερινά σου δείνει τόσο όμορφα πράγματα να απολαύσεις όπως ποιότητα ζωής, όμορφους ανθρώπους και φίλους, γευστικά παραδοσιακά προιόντα όπως φιστίκι & ελαιόλαδο, χαλαρές στιγμές ξενοισιάς καθώς και το πιο σημαντικό, όμορφες εικόνες που είναι ένα μέρος της δουλειάς μου, δεν μπορείς να του χαλάσεις χατίρι. Αυτό που πιστεύω είναι ότι πρέπει πάντα να ισορροπείς, να σέβεσαι τον τόπο και να δίνεις κάποια πράγματα πίσω.
Έτσι λοιπόν αποφάσισα να πάρω μέρος στο μεγάλο project προώθησής της Αίγινας και δέχθηκα να βοηθήσω. Έτσι παραχώρησα δωρεάν ένα αρκετά μεγάλο αριθμό φωτογραφιών από το προσωπικό μου αρχείο ώστε να βοηθήσω με το καλύτερο τρόπο την παρουσίαση και την εκπροσώπηση του νησιού μέσα από το νέο τουριστικό site www.discoveraegina.gr.
Εκτός από την παραχώρηση των φωτογραφιών συμμετείχα και στην επιμέλεια των φωτογραφιών γενικότερα. Σαν επαγγελματίας Φωτογράφος αλλά και σαν Αιγινήτης εύχομαι το καλύτερο για αυτή τη νέα σημαντική προσπάθεια που σκοπό έχει την ανάδειξη της ομορφίας του νησιού μας στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Μια καλή διαφήμιση είναι σημαντική για το μέλλον. Είναι η πρώτη φορά που γίνεται μια τέτοια προσπάθεια και εύχομαι το καλύτερο διότι παίρνεις πάντα αυτό που αξίζεις και το νησί της Αίγινας το αξίζει.
My Aegina Photos in the new Promo Website
My homeland is Aegina Island. This piece of land every day gives me many many beautiful thinks to enjoy like quality of life, nice people and friends, very tasty and natural food like fistiki and Oil and the most important, series of beautiful pictures to capture witch is also important for my professional work. I believe that I should balance all those special thinks I have with giving thinks back!
When I asked if I want to participate in a new big project about the branding and tourism promotion of Aegina island I agreed to help.
I gave for free a number of already taken photos which I had in my portfolio to represent my Island – Aegina in all over the world through the new tourism website www.discoveraegina.gr. Except my photos offer I also made the photo selection and overview. As a professional photographer, hope to help enough to see everyone in all over the world this beauty of Greece!
This is the first time having an advertising campaign like this. I wish the best for this new web trip of my Aegina, of my Greece, through discoveraegina.gr website. A good advertising for our island is quite important for the future. You took what you deserve and Aegina deserve this!
Wedding Photographer – Be Cautious On – Prices
Because the first meeting with a wedding photographer usually raises many questions, I decided to offer 10 tips so that couples will know what to pay attention to without wasting valuable time in selecting their photographer.
1) Always speak to the photographer in person.
Personal contact is of the utmost importance. The photographer is essentially a guest who is there to record the wedding. You can’t have the photographer spoil your moment by shouting, “Look at me!” or “Move out of the way”, as they used to do in the old days. Other problems you might notice include issues of personal hygiene, inappropriate dress, negative energy or a tendency to complain.
2) As to the technical aspects – ask to see samples of his work.
You should ask questions about the photographer’s experience. It’s a good idea to get feedback from other couples who have already worked with him and check out who recommends him (websites, brochures etc.). It is equally important to know what you’re paying for. Do you choose a cheaper photographer just so you can have a dozen photos to remember your wedding or would you prefer something better for these occasions that stay with you for a lifetime? But what exactly is “cheap” or “expensive”? You can get a better idea about the relationship between quality and price by doing a little market research based on the budget a couple is working with. If you see big differences in prices, it doesn’t necessarily mean one of the two is trying to con you. Take, for example, bargain basement products. No one really believes that buying a name brand means being tricked because the same item may be marked down 80% at discount stores. It just means that the name brand has more to offer in terms of quality and durability. For photographers, that means more experience, quality equipment, respect for the couple, time devoted to selecting and editing photos, reliability, photo and presentation quality, personal attitude, creativity, business premises and many other parameters that unfortunately most couples ignore or are not aware of until it’s too late.
3) Business premises.
You should always select a photographer with some kind of studio or office so you know where you can go if something goes wrong and no one seems to be answering the phone!
4) After all of the above, we get to the heart of the matter. Services and price.
Service is related to the price you pay: conventional album or digital, printed photos, delivery time, retouching, web gallery, photo negatives and a whole series of services that modern photography demands.
5) Digital albums. This is a major chapter in contemporary wedding photography. It includes the selection of photos and the way they are presented: interior layout, selection of a cover, number of double-page spreads, type of paper and laminated pages, among other things. It’s a good idea at this point to ask the photographer if you’ll be allowed to have input into the creative aspect of an album.
6) Video.
This is altogether different from photography and it’s a good idea to select them separately. The photographer may be able to recommend a videographer you can contact in person so you can evaluate the work yourself.
7) Suggestions and tips for the day of the wedding.
This is another important chapter in photography. The result is something you will have to look at forever after and unfortunately for you, it is all up to the photographer. The best thing to do is to ask him for advice on makeup, hair-styling and lighting, and discuss what kinds of photos you would like of the actual ceremony and of your subsequent movements in the church (greeting guests, bonbonnieres, inside and outside the church, etc.) and the reception venue.
8 ) Payment methods.
The right photographer always requires an advance payment and will sign an agreement with you to secure both your rights: yours by firming up the date and the services in terms of time and materials you’ll be getting and his in terms of reserving the date and outlining his collaboration with you.
9) Always make an appointment and spend some time with the photographer.
Part of the service that a photographer provides can’t be quantified, including coverage time, time
spent on selecting and editing photos, the way he moves around during the ceremony and the suggestions he makes about poses, locations, albums and so on. That’s why it’s a good idea to take full advantage of your meeting with him to let him know exactly what you want and how you want it and give him a chance to explain how he works and how he expresses himself, such as whether he’s fashion-based or more of a photojournalist.
10) Mood.
That is the most important of all – you and your mood, the way you perceive these moments and how you would like to express them. That is what your guests will see and ultimately what will be recorded by the camera so you can remember it for the rest of your life.

Simple Advices for Powerful Wedding Photos
From the moment you will choose your wedding photographer and the special day is coming, you should consider your own contribution at the final art work. We are photographers not God! With very simple thoughts you can give the best of yourself for powerful photos and a happy wedding
1) The wedding time is very important. Especially when you have chosen a chapel or if your wedding is taking place outdoors. We must be very careful and we should try not to lose the daylight. No one wants to have black background at his wedding photos.
2)The wedding day is a celebration day. In fact you are the hosts. Your guests wants to see you cheerful! This day belongs to you. You should not feel stressed and insecure. Relax and enjoy it!
3) Split the responsibilities of the wedding day to relatives and friends. They will help you for sure. I have seen a couple quarrel right after the ceremony for their grandmother’s transport. You are the protagonists, not the porters.
4) Don’t stop being in good mood. If you are having fun, you will impart positive energy to your quests
5) If something unexpected will appear (like rain, wind, etc.) snub it and leave it behind. Of course plan B is necessary!
6) Your photographer should be informed for any detail, custom, specificity or even a surprise.
And never forget… Have fun, have fun, have fun. A good photographer needs nothing more than this!
