Irene & Alexandros Traditional Wedding from Agistri with Love

As a wedding photographer, nothing gives me more joy than to witness the officiating of love between two people, and to have the privilege of freezing these beautiful moments. Regardless of the temperatures during summer, I generally love shooting weddings during this time of the year. The weather is not only favorable for photography, but also gives couples a wide variety of places to host their wedding.

This summer, I was honored to be part of Irene & Alexandros’ big day which took place in Agistri, an Island near Athens—the capital of Greece. I loved this wedding as it was done in daylight, the light reveals the real beauty of the couple and the place, making it easy to capture even the minute details.

The Christian Wedding in Agistri

As Christians, the lovely couple saw it fit to legalize their union in a traditional church which is in Agistri Island. Agistri has unsurpassed beauty and is the perfect destination for weddings and holidays. The beaches have azure crystal waters and paths full of pine trees. This particular venue was a prospective ground for taking good images for the wedding photo shoot and we definitely couldn’t leave without one. The seaside photo shoot was spectacular and the memories are well kept.

The wedding Reception at Kekryfalia Hotel

As it is with many Greeks, the wedding ceremony and the reception take place in different venues, and Irene & Alexandros were no exception. The wedding reception was at Kekryfalia Hotel and the couple chose a traditional fishing boat to take them to the reception venue. This was really beautiful and made us believe that their wedding theme was traditional. I also took advantage of the short trip and took amazing shots.

We found people waiting for us who made the couple dance their way to the hotel. This also gave me a good opportunity to capture good shots of the jubilation that had already filled the air. The old women threw rice to the couple, a Greek tradition of wishing the couple good luck in their newly acquired life.

Nothing is as easy in photography as shooting a couple who are independently joyous and ever smiling. When they come together as a couple, they merge to form a perfect union and make your work of getting awesome shots easy. Congratulations Irene & Alexandros on your wedding day.
