Christos Baptism in Agios Nikolaos - Athens
As a baptism and wedding photographer I have the opportunity to visit temples and churches in the center of Athens rich in artistic and architectural interest . It’s churches and corners of Athens we walk through almost everyday and we do not know the history and value of them. These locations and places is very important to emerge in every way and honored selecting them for marriage and baptism, both for their historical interest and their aesthetic. The baptism of Christos took place in Agios Nikolaos (old workhouse) church at Vasilisis Sofias Avenue and Ploutarchou str, opposite the Greek War Museum in Athens.
The stone-made church of Agios Nicholas built in 1876 donated by Andrea Sygros to serve the workhouse Athens Foundation. The build based on the desighn by architect Panagiotis Kalkos ( 1810-1878 ). It is a cruciform church with a dome type , with exposed rubble , brick decoration and remarkable proportions rank in Neo- Byzantium pace.
The interior of the Church of Agios Nikolas Nicholas Athens Workhouse cloaking with beautiful diffused light from the main entrance to the temple and mostly in late evening hours. Although it is in the center of Athens, when you pass through the entrance, Agios Nikolas church, manage to isolate the sounds of the city . In this baptism season once again the church plays an important role in conferring baptism photos devout atmosphere to submit in the mystery of the baptism. Right after the Christening food and entertainment comes at the Stadium of Ethnikos Team catered by Ceramicos catering with Acropolis on the background. My favorite photos follows.
