A Wedding to Remember in Laas Estate For Maria & Matthew
The people make the wedding, and the wedding of Maria and Mathew in Laas Estate was a night buzzing with love and joy. But as with many weddings in Greece, timing is also everything. Maria and Mathew got married on the hottest day of the summer.
The timeline made the day. Wanting their loved ones to relax, cool down, and enjoy their venue, Maria and Mathew planned an early evening ceremony and a late reception. In between, the 150 guests enjoyed an extended cocktail hour by the pool. Lounge chairs and hammocks were set up, and everyone watched the sunset together from the Laas estate‘s great location above the suburbs of Athens. As a Greek wedding photographer, lack of time is often a stressful part of shooting, but the timeline of this wedding was a luxury. While the guests cooled down with a cocktail by the pool, I got quality time with Maria and Mathew for their portraits. The soft evening light worked in our favor, and the thousand shades of lush green made a beautiful backdrop.
The Wedding Party at Laas Estate in Athens
Aside from the tables, the decorations around the venue, like the minimalist style of the place itself, were kept simple, not to compete with the incredible view. As the last light faded in the horizon, string lights around the dance floor lit up the wedding venue, and echoed the glimmer of Athens below, as if the entire Attica basin was lit for the occasion. I enjoyed watching Maria, who was the life of the wedding party, dance through the night with Mathew. Their sheer happiness and energy was contagious, inspiring everyone to dance well into the small hours. It felt like we were at the epitome of the big city, with all it’s tradition, vibrant life, and people willing to generously express love and joy.

Maria and Mathew, congratulations! Here’s to a lifetime of feeling like we all did that day.
